We Wrocławiu dobiegają końca zdjęcia do filmu dokumentalnego „Wrocław Vaclava Havla” w reżyserii Pawła Woldana. Premiera filmu planowana jest na 18 grudnia –  1. rocznicę śmierci  Vaclava Havla. Producentem filmu jest Pado Studio Film (Warszawa), a koproducentem Odra-Film ze środków tegorocznego, VI Dolnośląskiego Konkursu Filmowego.

 

Godzinny film dokumentalny opowiada o związkach Vaclava Havla ze stolicą Dolnego Śląska, sięgając do pierwszych spotkań liderów opozycji demokratycznej z Polski i Czechosłowacji w Karkonoszach w latach 70., aż po ostatni wrocławski pobyt Vaclava Havla we Wrocławiu kiedy w Ossolineum odbierał nagrodę im. Jana Nowaka-Jeziorańskiego (2009). Vaclav Havel był honorowym obywatelem Wrocławia i doktorem honoris causa Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego.  Obok materiałów archiwalnych w filmie znajdą się m. in. rozmowy z liderami Solidarności Polsko-Czesko-Słowackiej, którzy prywatnie znali Vaclava Havla. 17 października ekipa Pawła Woldana filmowała m. in.  uroczystość nadania imienia prezydenta Republiki Czeskiej rondu w centrum Wrocławia. Zdjęcia do filmu zakończą się na początku listopada.

 

Filming of a documentary “Wrocław by Vaclav Havel“ directed by Paweł Woldan is coming to an end in Wrocław. The film premiere is scheduled for 18 December – the 1 anniversary of the death of Vaclav Havel. The film is produced by Pado Studio Film (Warsaw) and Odra-Film as a co-producer has participated with its contribution from this year’s VI Lower Silesian Film Competition fund.

 

An hour-long documentary tells the story of Vaclav Havel’s relationship with the capital of Lower Silesia, touching the subject of first meetings of the democratic opposition leaders from Poland and Czechoslovakia in the Karkonosze Mountains in the 70s, to the last visit of Vaclav Havel in Wrocław when he collected the Jan Nowak-Jezioranski Award in Ossolineum (2009). Vaclav Havel was an honorary citizen of Wrocław and held the honorary degree from the University of Wrocław. Besides archival materials, the film includes, among other, talks with the leaders of the Polish-Czech-Slovak Solidarity who knew Vaclav Havel in private. On 17 October Paweł Woldan’s crew were filming, among others, the ceremony of naming the roundabout in the centre of Wrocław after the President of the Czech Republic. Shooting the film will be completed in early November.
