Castle Książ
Castle complex, located in the Książ district of Wałbrzych in the Wałbrzych Foothills, being part of the Książ Landscape Park. It is the third largest castle in Poland (after the Malbork Castle and the Wawel Royal Castle).
The castle is built inside picturesque forests, in the gorge of the Pełcznica river flowing downstream. It is located on a steep rock massif at an altitude of 395 m above sea level. (approx. 80 m above the valley floor).
In today’s baroque and neo-renaissance shape of the castle, it is difficult to find its medieval, original appearance. The most visible element from this period is the main tower.
