A story about Wanda Rutkiewicz, one of the most outstanding mountaineers in the world, the first woman in the world to climb K2 – the most difficult of the eight-thousanders and the first person from Poland to climb Everest. We set off on an expedition in the footsteps of Wanda Rutkiewicz, on her last trip to Nepal. In 1992, Wanda went missing in Kanchendzonga. Her body has never been found. According to Wanda’s mother, her daughter did not die, but hid in a monastery in Tibet. Today, 25 years after the tragic events, we set off on an expedition during which we will discover the tragic biography of Wanda. Was Wanda a woman-hero, a brave first conqueror of the highest peaks, or a loser for whom the mountains were an escape from loneliness and the death that surrounded her?
